Jordan Ghawi is an emergency healthcare and disaster response leader, he serves as Chief Strategy Officer at the Southwest Texas Regional Advisory Council (STRAC), leading a regional emergency healthcare system spanning 26,000 square miles across South Texas. He previously oversaw the creation of Texas’ Infectious Disease Response Unit (IDRU), played a key role in the COVID-19 pandemic response, and served as Division Chief of Operations for a local fire/EMS agency.

 

Committed to civic engagement, he serves on the boards of the San Antonio Housing Trust, Texas Lyceum, and co-chaired Mayor Ron Nirenberg’s Removing Barriers to Affordable Housing Task Force.

 

His recognitions include San Antonio Business Journal’s Man of the Year (2022), the Texas 100 List of Influential Texans (2023), Harvard Business School’s Young American Leaders Program (2023), and Marshall Memorial Fellow (2026). He remains active in emergency response both as a reserve firefighter and paramedic in Bexar County as well as a Task Force Leader for the state’s disaster medical response team. He holds degrees in emergency health sciences, public administration, and business administration.
